JeffF wants to know:
I am pretty new to keeping fish, so i am not sure if the fish is sick, or if it is normal…
I have an african cichlid that i just got almost 2 months ago for my 26 gallon tank.
The fish is white/grey, with four or five black stripes.
I just noticed a few days ago that the fish’s fins were starting to turn yellow, and now some of his body is starting to turn yellow alittle.
Anyone know what is going on?

most cichlids colour up after a few months. Usually the males show more colour. Also only the dominant male usually shows full colour

yes, that’s because it’s a male
and it’s changing to it’s adult color
it’s nothing to worry about, just watch and enjoy the change
it’s amazing

It’s normal. Don’t worry.
Yellow color means he is a male
If there is no change in color have been observed, that means it is a female.
