Pet shops can charge what they feel like unfortunately…but flowerhorns do take a very long time to grow big and live a very long time also.

well they are basically a three spot cichlid!!….trimac!!..the three spot is very well known to interbreed with many other central american cichlids..for example my male trimacs have breed with female texas cichlids,salvini,myrenai…but at the end I just dont allow it because I dont have time to be so close as to help raise them..but I will one day…the flowerhorn is primarily a very colorful trimac..Ill tell you why!! trimacs come from el salvador,honduras, in the different regions there are many colormorphs..just like what happened to the electric dempsey…some trimacs have very red eyes and other dull light orange eyes..if a trimac does have a mix of other central americans its probably..midas and red devils…thats where they got all those red horns and kamfas,ETC..the red texas is just a midas and a red devil mix with texas cichlid..there may or not be a trimac mix..if you look carefully allot of these small asian owned shops will sell three spots as low class flowerhorns,which go for about twenty bucks and up!!..A rip off!! If I ever want a flowerhorn I will make one for myself!! most small owned shops dont cary three spots or at least dont sell them as three spots because they want your money!! shockingly petsmart was selling three spots for $7.99!! and this little asian guy was shouting its a flowerhorn!! but I had to explain to him….so yeah just make your own or just keep a three spot cichlid!! GOOD LUCK!! DONT SPEND TOO MUCH ON FLOWERHORNS!!!!…since now you know!!
