   I have a 55 gal cichlid tank but I have new world cichlids and one lake malawi. Some say you should mix due to aggressiveness but my fish are getting along fine. I have an electric blue ahli! beautiful.

   Please check out a web page on Africans. I used to raise them and they have way different water conditions than the south american ones. To raise them and breed them you need a tank with a high ph. You can do this by using gravel that they you in saltwater tanks. THey also need lots of salt Not as much as saltwater but way too high for the south americans. Africans are really cool. They have bright colors and cool breeding habits. they are mouth breeders. You can also set your tank up with corals like a salt tank. Sort of like having a saltwater tank without all the work. have . My favorites were the Johnnani Not sure of the spelling. They are electric blue.
