Oscars are a very good choice for you tank. They eat live fish and love it. They are very fun to watch. Other cichlids for your tank could include Jack demseys cichlids, Jaguars cichlids, and others. Here is a web-site for more info.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Large is relative :o)

    I’ll suggest Arowana?

Single predator America Cichlid and it’s the beast

    Large predatory cichlids..

Nandopis dovii (largest CA/SA cichlid known as the wolf)
Cichlasoma managuense (known as the jaguar)
Caquetaia umbriferus (umbee’s can be mean)
Cichlasoma motaguense (known as the red tiger)
Amphilophus festae (the red terror, very aggressive)
    Herichthys carpinte “Escondido”
    Nandopis octofasciatus (Jack Dempsey)
    Paratheraps zonatus
Hoplarchus pscittacus (the true parrot cichlid)
    Amphilophus citrinellum (Midas/Red Devil insectivore)
Astronotus ocellatus (Oscar, insectivore, bit of a pansy compared to the other fishes listed here)

The Genus has changed a lot on many of these fishes, but their species names are all correct. Most of these fishes are opportunistic predators, but don’t necessarily eat small fishes all of the time, so feeders won’t be good for them. Earth worms, krill and the like are very good.

What is large? when I think large I think 240g and larger. Anything less than that is a medium size tank, with 55g being the absolute smallest medium size tank. Anything under that is small. Don’t think you can keep many of these fishes together in anything less than a 240g.

Most of the fishes I’ve listed are living currently in an indoor pond to give you an idea of what size is needed, please check out Mo Devlin’s site to get a good idea of the size needed. There are some really big fish yet to be listed.. pearsi, argentea, haitiensis.. all big and aggressive.
