That is African cichlids for you, that is why they are best kept with others with the same level of aggression.
I would go to a local pet store, mainly a privately owned one, some of them are willing to take fish in and give you store credit for it. You could also find someone else that keeps Africans and see if they would take it from you, if you were close to me I would take it from you and put it with my African cichlids, it would be fine in my tank. Whatever you do, don’t kill the fish just because it’s aggressive, that is their nature, its not the fish’s fault.

As you asked in your other question about a small cichlid in a community tank, yes actually you can. I see the 55, but here we go. Your listing of what’s in that 55 indicates you have a Parrot, a single Rosy Barb, the Gourami, and a pleco.
I’m not trying to harp on this, but you really need to get more defined on the species of fish you’re keeping. Additionally to that, it’s very much not advised you try mixing Africans with South Americans (your Parrot). The water chemistry needs are opposite ended.
No need to flush your other fish. Keeping it in the 20 is just fine. However, you really need to identify the species your keeping. You’re already a strike and a half down to putting that fish in the 55 simply because of the Parrot. If you can find what species of African you have, look it up, or post a picture of it, we can see what kind of options you have.
