Time isn’t always the answer for cichlids. As for electric yellows feed live foods if possible…if not frozen. I couldn’t get them into spawing condition with flakes or pellets. Make sure they have enough hiding spots and that there are no other species in the tank.
A couple of tricks that work for me in my 90 gallon tank are a slight water change with a lowering of water temp by 3 to 4 degrees to simulate fresh rains, followed by a day or two of brine shrimp feedings. That combination usually works. Good luck with yours……..later shaker

just leave them to it when they are ready they will breed
