Fred J wants to know:
Green terror, firemouth, texas Blue, Jack dempsy, and Convict. What will i need to know about these fish, will they get along, is a texas blue, a african or south american cichlid? Is it a cichlid? Will the jack dempsy survive with anything else
well can the firemouth or the convict go with african cichlids?

A 55 gallon tank is extemely small for all those fish. They will all end up killing each other being very territorial and aggressive.

the texas blue is native to Southern Texas in the Rio Grande drainages, from which they have spread north throughout the state, thriving and able to survive through temperate winters due to their extremely low temperature tolerance (some reports estimate this at 5°C). you have an extremely aggressive tank so keep chiclids with chiclids and yes the texas blue is a chiclid

all the fish your considering are central or south american cichlids.
lots of rocks and logs in their tank will help, but i’m afraid they are going to tear up any plants you may try (even some plastic ones)
they are all territorial fish so as they grow will start beating each other up. the green terror will get a good 8-10 inches so is not the best choice for a 55 gallon.
the jack dempsy and the texas blue will get about 7-8 inches so their a little big for your 55 (unless your planning on something bigger later) leaving the firemouth and the convict both get about 5 inches so are perfect for the 55 but as they are territorial they may not get along with each other.
it might be better to pick one and get a pair of them as the breeding behaviour is really neat to watch and the babies can be worth the effort.
good luck

Sorry, but that’s too many fish for your tank. Furthermore, they’re all very aggressive and could very well end up killing each other.
