Aw, isn’t it so much fun? You need to get them a fry cage, you can get them at a pet store. It’s a little cage that they can swim in and out of to avoid the larger fish. You can also get fry food at your pet store and when they get bigger, they’ll love frozen blood worms, high in protein (they come dried as well).
I had a pair of Jack Dempseys who had numerous broods and I just loved it. You definitely have to watch out for the older fish, they’ll eat them quick like. Have fun, enjoy your new brood.

My cousin also has convict babies. He put a rock in it so there’s like a cave sitting. The babies hide in there unless they are being fed. The convict protect their babies; but be prepared to loose quite a few. No special food is needed. Just crush up flakes into very small pieces. Their is fry food out their; but it’s not necessary. Just try to make sure their are lots of hiding spaces. You may think a lot died; and all of a sudden a month later you’ll see one you didn’t know pop out of their hiding space. Good luck.

I just wanna say congratulations, i am actually definitely going to breed convicts in the next month or so, all i know is the temperature should be 75-79°F, and there should be plenty of hiding places, and the fry like to eat crushed flake food, or brine shrimp.
Well good luck i wish you all the best.

Buy some fish fry drops from the pet store to feed them. Other than that. You really dont have to do much. The parents take care of the babies. Just make sure the water temparatures are good and you should be fine.
