Checkerboard Cichlid, Ram, Kribensis, African Shell Dwellers, and Apistogramma species.

three-striped dwarf cichlid
nijssen`s dwarf cichlid
these both only grow to 5cm`s( 2 inches) these would be ok for a 12 gallon tank it depends in which ones you want to keep good luck with your choices
