I certainly would, also you can check the ingrediants and see if there are any salts added in the Peacocks/haps, or the kent buffer. Normaly I would say yes.

I wouldn’t. Alot of guys I know add epsom salts and have great success. The best salts on the market in my opinion are the tropic marine cichlid rift lake buffer. Its closer to malawi than tanganyikan but still way better than epsom salts. I’ve seen the kent stuff but don’t rate its chemical composition. I have the composition if you want them, just send me a pm.

Yes, you need to put salt in your cichlid tank. The salt helps the fish to reduce their stress and to color to its potential
In their natural habitat, most of the African lakes contaminated with salt from the ocean, and that’s why they’re so colorful. For best results use salt designed for African cichlid tanks. Recommended Sea Chem- Cichlid Lake Salt. Follow label directions.

I use salt. One tablespoon for every 5 gallons of water. I add more if someone looks injured or ill. It keeps parasites at bay, and helps to clean and heal cuts or scrapes. Just think of how good an epson salt bath feels when our skin is irritated.
